Income / Practical creator guide

Become a creator brands can confidently hire.

By BeanInfluencer editorial · Updated October 7, 2026

Prepare proof before pitching

Create three relevant sample pieces and label unpaid examples. Build a media kit with positioning, audience demographics from platform analytics, median recent reach, examples, services and contact information. Do not invent results or imply a brand has hired you.

Build a focused prospect list

Identify 20 brands that genuinely fit your audience and values. Record product fit, campaign ideas, a verified contact source and outreach status. Consider local businesses and niche providers. Use their official business contact channels; avoid scraping private contact information.

Send a useful proposal

Structure: why this audience fits, one concrete creative idea, your relevant sample and a request for the campaign brief. Example: “I teach balcony gardening to apartment renters. I can demonstrate your compact planter in a three-part setup series. Here is a sample tutorial. Are you commissioning creator content this season?” Follow up politely, then move on.

Price a defined scope

Separate production, distribution, paid usage, raw files, exclusivity and revisions. Agree on deliverables, dates, approval process, license duration, payment schedule and cancellation terms in writing. A production-cost floor is a planning input, not a market rate. Broad perpetual rights deserve careful review.

Protect audience trust

Clearly disclose paid, gifted and affiliate relationships with the endorsement. For videos, include visible and spoken disclosure when appropriate. Keep reviews truthful and support factual claims. Read current FTC guidance and applicable local requirements; a profile disclaimer alone is insufficient.

Put it to work
